Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!

Overview: Psalm 145-147, 1 Corinthians 3

The psalmist praises the Lord with many truths and attributes of His character. He speaks of placing his hope in the Lord and not in the people or things of this world. Psalm 146 begins a section of hymns of praise, with each psalm beginning and ending with "Hallelujah!" (Praise the Lord!)

Paul describes the problem in the Corinthian church. They are divided over their favorite Christian preachers instead of uniting around the work of the Holy Spirit. The church must put aside the world’s wisdom and apply God’s wisdom to build a united church. He reminds them that they are building on the foundation that Jesus laid and challenges them to only boast in Christ.
