God Is In Control
One of the common themes in these Proverbs is that the Lord is sovereign, and we are to submit to Him in every way. Although we are responsible for our daily lives, we need to remind ourselves that God is in control.
"The heart of man plans his way,
but the Lord establishes his steps.” - Proverbs 16:9
Paul continues his answer to the Corinthians about their question on food sacrificed to idols. He explains that even if the Corinthians have the right to eat food offered to idols, it is better to give up our rights for the spiritual benefit of others. Paul surrendered his rights for those he ministered to, and he calls on us to do the same.
