Wise Instructions

Overview: Proverbs 19-21, I Corinthians 10:1-13

The Proverbs of Solomon compiles many short instructions for living in the wisdom of God. Individual proverbs are grouped together to explore many subjects and situations. They give wisdom for a good wife (Proverbs 19:14) and a good life (Proverbs 19:23) and everything between. 

In 1 Corinthians, Paul warns the church in Corinth not to repeat the sins of Israel by indulging in idolatry. He responds to a question about eating food offered to idols by comparing Israel’s temptations in the wilderness. The people of God will always have a right decision that does not force them to disobey God’s law.
