The Scroll and the Lamb
Amos calls out the selfish and indulgent ways of Israel. Israel cannot avoid judgment by fake displays of devotion that do not come from a repentant heart. Truth, justice, and righteousness are the signs of people that are seeking the Lord.
In Revelation, John receives a vision from heaven recording the victory on the cross to the end of history. God on His throne gives a mysterious sealed scroll to the Lamb, Jesus the Son. Worship breaks out in heaven as the Lamb receives the scroll as the only one worthy to open it and reveal its contents.
The Lord knows our hearts. The life He calls us to can only be lived by trusting in the Lamb of God slain in our place. When we do, truth, justice, and righteousness become our heart’s desire. What does your heart desire?
