God Will Wipe Every Tear

Overview: Obidiah 1, Revelation 7

The book of Obadiah gets its name from the prophet, whose name means "one who serves the Lord." The theme of the book is that those who oppose God will face judgment, while God’s people will receive restoration.

Obidiah explains how God warned the arrogant nations that He would destroy them. He promises that Israel will inherit the land and promises the kingdom of God to those who trust Him.

In Revelation, John records a heavenly vision of the Lamb of God, Jesus, opening a scroll of judgment and salvation. As the Lamb opens the scroll, John records a series of seven visions related to the seven seals of the scroll. Between the sixth and seventh seals, the visions are paused to reveal the fate of those who have trusted God.

God promises to wipe away all our tears resulting from our suffering. Share the hope that this promise gives you.
