Cling to God’s Word

Overview: Hosea 4-7, Jude 1

Hosea challenges the priests, prophets, and people to turn back to God (Hosea 4:1-13). They forsook God and abandoned His Word, and so they lived as they pleased. Still, Hosea holds out hope the people would repent (Hosea 6:1-3).

Jude, the brother of Jesus, encourages his readers to contend for the faith they have received (Jude 3). False teachers had crept in, and God would deal with them, but the people still need to guard their hearts and pursue unity.

Evil soon followed once Hosea’s hearers turned their backs on God. Why is a relationship with God and love for His Word so important?
