Songs of Praise

Overview: Psalms 1-3, Acts 13:1-12

The book of Psalms gets its name from the songs used as praises to God in public worship. Psalm 1 serves as an introduction to the Psalms and in some ways, the Bible itself. Psalm 2 looks forward to the day that the Messiah will unite all nations under his kingdom. In Psalm 3, David models genuine faith in difficult circumstances.

In Acts, the Antioch church commissions Paul and Barnabas for their first missionary journey. The Spirit leads them to witness beyond borders, spreading the kingdom to the ends of the earth.
