The Faithfulness of God

Overview: Nehemiah 1-4, John 19:23-42

Nehemiah continues the story of Ezra, describing the return of the people of God. Nehemiah gets permission to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. Despite violent opposition, the people repair the walls with the Lord’s protection.

With every detail, John shows how Jesus’ death on the cross fulfilled Scripture and was a part of God’s plan. Joseph of Arimathea gets Pilate’s permission to bury him in his garden tomb.

In Nehemiah and John, God is faithful to keep His promises. What promises have you seen come true over the course of your life? How has God been faithful to you?
