Consider what the Lord has given you!

Overview: 1 Chronicles 4-6, John 6:45-71

1 Chronicles lists the genealogy of the tribes of Israel to show that they are still God’s chosen people. Levi’s descendants serve the Lord in the Jerusalem temple and are foundational to Israel.

Jesus challenges the Jewish authorities by previewing God’s plan to redeem humanity. This challenge causes some to oppose Him, and others to embrace Him as the Messiah.

Observation and Activation
"And he said, ’This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father.’" - John 6:65

God rejoices in those who are in His chosen family. Their names are forever remembered in His Word. As His children, our names are also included in His call into eternity. Jesus declares that inclusion into God’s family is through Him. This includes participation in His sacrificial love.

While this may seem strange, Jesus does not compromise God’s message. It is God who gives us the ability to respond to the truth that Jesus is the answer to our greatest need. How have you responded to what He has given you?
