Be strong and courageous, the Lord is with you!
Overview: 1 Chronicles 28-29, John 10:1-21
David receives direction from the Lord to pass his kingdom on to Solomon, who will build the temple. David passed on the directions and inspiration the Spirit had given him with which to build the temple.
Jesus uses another "I Am" saying to show that He is the fulfillment of the God shepherd (Psalm 23) and the good shepherd (Psalm 78:70-72).
Observation and Activation
Passing on a task such as building the temple must have been humbling for David who had received the vision and instructions. Yet, it allowed God to get the glory gave the people a chance to give generously and be a part of God’s work in their generation.
The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus promises abundant life! Which voice are you following, the thief or the good shepherd?
