Jesus Revealed

Overview: 1 Kings 19-20, Luke 24:36-53

After fleeing from Jezebel, The Lord ministers to Elijah in his fear and discouragement. Israel experiences victory over Syria despite great odds.

The resurrected Jesus reveals Himself to His disciples before ascending into heaven. Before leaving, He tells them to wait in the city for the Holy Spirit to come.

Observation and Activation
“These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” - Luke 24:44

Jesus reveals to His disciples that all the Hebrew Scriptures point to Him.

From the promises made to Abraham and Moses to the “word of the Lord” that came to Elijah (1 Kings 19:9), the Bible is one story that leads to Jesus. We are now written into that story as His disciples who inherit the call to proclaim His name to all nations.

As you read today’s Scripture and reflect, think about this question: What is the Holy Spirit revealing to you about Jesus today?
