The Perfect Sacrifice
Overview: Ezekiel 9-10, Hebrews 9
Ezekiel prophesies the Lord’s judgment on Jerusalem because of those unfaithful to Him. God saves the people who have not participated in the evil done in the city. Ezekiel’s vision shows God’s judgment as the Spirit of God withdraws from the temple.
The author of Hebrews shows how Jesus’ death is superior to the sacrifices in Moses’s time. He explains that the tabernacle in the Old Testament (Exodus 25-26) is a picture of heavenly things (Hebrews 9:23-24). Through the blood of Christ, Jesus provides a single sacrifice in the superior heavenly tabernacle, God’s very presence. Jesus’ sacrifice covers the past, present, and future sins of all who believe in Him.
