Run the Race of Faith

Overview: Ezekiel 19-20, Hebrews 12

Ezekiel announces judgment on Jerusalem and Judah through parables and metaphors. He gives a lament for the princes of Israel, showing that even David’s descendants are not immune from God’s judgment. The prophet reminds Israel of how Israel has rebelled against the Lord in the past, yet he holds out hope for eventual restoration.

Hebrews calls us to faith and perseverance through challenges and suffering. The writer of Hebrews compares faith to a race, and we are to run the race with endurance until the kingdom fully comes. Hebrews warns against rejecting this loving discipline from the Lord, inviting the reader to see it as character training.
