Gospel Good Works
Overview: Jeremiah 45-46, Titus 3
After Jeremiah delivers God’s judgment of Judah for their rebellion against Him, he turns his attention to the nations. Jeremiah begins his announcement of God’s judgment of the nations with Egypt, condemning Judah for their trust in their gods and kings.
Paul closes his letter to Titus by contrasting the behavior of believers with those who rejected the Lord’s forgiveness. Those who accept His salvation are to devote themselves to good works, avoiding those who are argumentative and divisive. Paul concludes with an encouragement that restates his main point, that right belief leads to right behavior.
God instructs those who have accepted His gift of salvation to represent Him well by their daily habits and love.
