Judgment of Casual Christianity
Overview: Ezekiel 3-4, Hebrews 6
God commissions Ezekiel to serve as Israel’s “spiritual watchman” (Ezekiel 3:16-21). The prophet performs three dramatic symbolic signs that point to the people’s imminent judgment if they did not repent (Ezekiel 4:1-17).
The author of Hebrews warns his audience against neglecting their spiritual growth (Hebrews 5:11–6:3). He warns of the danger of falling away from the faith and urges them to pursue spiritual maturity (Hebrews 6:4-12). He uses Abraham as an example of one who inherited God’s promises through faith.
God will judge the world one day. How can we avoid slipping into a casual relationship with God and also encourage others to seek a deep walk with Him?
