Do Not Grow Weary of Doing Good

Overview: Jeremiah 19-20, 2 Thessalonians 3

Even as Jeremiah struggles, he is prepared to continue serving the Lord and His people. Jeremiah warned the people of Jerusalem that God was going to destroy them for their disobedience. He was mocked and beaten because of what he continued to prophesy. Jeremiah continued to praise God but then felt grief, cursing the day he was born.

Paul transitions to reassuring the Thessalonians of God’s faithfulness. Some Thessalonians had stopped working to await and proclaim the second coming of Jesus. Paul encourages the church to steer clear of those who walked in disobedience and to continue to work hard. Paul asks the people to never grow weary in doing good things. He prays for peace and grace over the church.
