Grace, Peace, and Mercy
Overview: Jeremiah 21-22, 1 Timothy 1
Jeremiah begins a series of confrontations with the people of Judah. First, he opposes the kings of Judah and warns them that their kingdom will perish at the hands of the Babylonians. Jeremiah warns the king to repent and lead the nation in righteousness, or else the house of David will be torn down.
Paul wrote his first letter to Timothy to encourage and strengthen him in his pastoral work. Timothy was a disciple of Paul, and Paul wrote this letter while Timothy was pastoring the church in Ephesus. The theme of his letter is that the gospel leads to visible and practical changes in the lives of believers. Paul encourages Timothy to confront the false teachers troubling the church.
