God’s Word Is True

Overview: Jeremiah 27-28, 1 Timothy 4

Jeremiah continues to confront the people of Judah about their false beliefs. He opposes the false belief that Babylon would not conquer Judah and that they would escape judgment without repentance. Jeremiah shows that the false prophets have not rebelled against him, but against the Lord.

Paul instructs Timothy to identify false teaching and to speak truths to the church. He shows how servants of Christ Jesus can help the church persevere in the face of false gospels, through sound teaching and lifestyles. Sound doctrine is a spiritual matter with eternal consequences.

Trusting God’s word and living by his law is a highlight of these chapters. How can you continue to believe what God is saying, and know what is true versus what is a myth?
