Attitude Reveals the Heart
The book of Proverbs concludes with a few collections of wisdom from outside Israel. Their inclusion in the Bible shows that all true wisdom is God’s wisdom. They emphasize themes taught throughout Proverbs, such as righteousness, wickedness, and discipline. The book concludes with a beautiful poem portraying the ideal woman who fears the Lord.
Paul continues his rebuke of the Corinthians for their divisions over corporate worship. This time, he is critiquing their social snobbery at the Lord’s Supper. He again calls them to give up their "rights" for the benefit of others, for the rich to share with the poor. He reminds them that like Jesus showed humility, we are to treat each other with self-sacrificial love as well.
