A Pleasing Aroma
Isaiah describes God’s people as a vineyard that produces poor fruit and also denounces various groups of evildoers. He experiences God’s awesome holiness in a vision and embraces God’s call (Isaiah 6:8).
Paul explains that he did not want to add to the Corinthians’ pain after writing his strongly-worded first letter (1 Corinthians). He challenges them to be "a fragrant aroma" of Jesus (see Leviticus 1:13) wherever they go.
"For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?" - 2 Corinthians 2:15-16
Isaiah was ready to accept God’s call. As you consider Paul’s statement and God’s call on you, how can your life provide a fragrant aroma of Jesus to others?
