Session 1

God is ready to forgive

From 40 Days of Prayer and Fasting Guide

Call to Prayer

Through Micah, God announces judgment on His people for turning away from Him. The gravity of their sin is immense. But in the last three verses, the Lord promises they’ll see His grace, patience, love, and faithfulness once again.

Why does God forgive His people so readily? Because He delights in steadfast love (Micah 7:18).

As you read, fast, and pray, may you see the Lord’s holiness and stand in awe of His character. May you turn away from any idols and run back to Him. His arms are open wide to you, and he stands ready to forgive His children.

Today’s Scripture

Micah 7:18-20

Ways to Pray

  • Ask God to reveal the areas where you have turned from Him and toward something else. Repent, and turn back to your heavenly Father. Receive the good gift of His grace.
  • If you find it hard to receive forgiveness, ask God to reveal any wounds or barriers keeping you from it. Take your time to let Him speak. Afterward, surrender those to Jesus, knowing He heals our wounds and removes those barriers.
