Matthew 4 is an amazing opportunity to see that the sustaining power and steadfast ways of Jesus through the Holy Spirit are possible for us. When we humble ourselves, submit to God’s way, and walk in His Word, the ability to overcome the enemy’s schemes through the power of God is available to us. 

Today, as you read, pray, and fast, humble yourself before God and His ways. May the bread of His Word fill and sustain you. May His example of overcoming temptation bless you and keep you. May you experience the power of Jesus’ healing touch.

Ways to Pray

• What sickness do you have? What temptation are you facing? Jesus’ healing is within arm’s reach.
• Ask the Holy Spirit to guide your every step today. Ask Him to help you resist temptation, and know that He is close to you — empowering you and guiding you.
• Pray that our church would be doers of the word, not just hearers only.
