Session 1
What’s the wise thing to do?
From 40 Days of Prayer and Fasting Guide
A Call to Prayer
Job 28 reminds us that while we may want to do what’s wise, only God knows the way to true wisdom. “Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding” (Job 28:28).
If we want to be wise, we have to first repent of thinking we know it all. We have to repent of believing we don’t need help, of trusting our guts instead of our God.
May your time in prayer today increase your reverence for God. May you come to know that wisdom cannot be found apart from Him, and may your search for wisdom cause you to trust and obey Him more and more.

Ways to Pray
- Take some time to consider the wisdom of God. Tell Him why He is worthy of our praise. Share the reasons you respect and revere Him.
- Ask God for specific wisdom to navigate these days. Submit to His correction and direction. Repent for any attitudes and actions that do not align with who you are as His kid.
