Haggai 1 reminds us that building God’s house is better than building our own kingdom. Our upside-down value system gets exposed when our unstable selfish desires meet God’s stable plan. During this odd time to be alive, we know all too well what it’s like to have circumstances expose our entitlement.

God loves giving good gifts to His children, and He’s not mad when we have good things (Luke 11:13). Today, as you pray, remember that God’s ways are the best ways, and that building God’s house is far better than anything we could build for ourselves.
