Session 1
From NewSpring at Home: A Study on Colossians
Colossians concludes with a barrage of quick, powerful statements designed to encourage and challenge the church. Paul asks the people of Colossae to pray that he might have more opportunities to share the Gospel with clarity.
He then charges the church to share his burden for the Gospel. Finally, Paul shares greetings from his fellow workers and commends individuals in the church for their ministry in the Lord. Notice the names: Tychicus, Onesimus, Aristarchus, Mark, Justus, Epaphras, Luke, Demas, Nympha, and Archippus.
From different backgrounds and circumstances, each person, rescued by Jesus and walking in the faith, is mentioned here because of the unique ministry they’ve received from the Lord. What a challenge to each of us!
May we walk in a manner worthy of the Lord. May we please Him in every way. May we joyfully thank Jesus who rescued us and brought us into His kingdom. And may we fulfill the ministry we have received in the Lord!
Prayer
Father, help us know our purpose. Help us know Your plan. Work mightily in us so we might have great energy and endurance to fulfill the ministry we have received from You.
