The Lord is our Provider
With the death of Samson, the depth of Israel’s downward spiral is revealed. The book of Judges concludes with tragic stories that show the religious corruption of the priests and Levites.
In Luke, Jesus sends out 72 of His disciples to share His message with surrounding towns and villages.
Observation and Activation
The book of Judges concludes with tragic stories that emphasize the book’s main message: “there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes” (Judges 17:6). The book looks forward to the day when Israel will have a godly king ruling according to the law (Deuteronomy 17:18-20).
When Jesus sends out his disciples, everything they need will be provided by the people of the towns who receive their message about Jesus. How have you seen God bless your obedience and provide for your needs?
