The God of Hope

Overview: Psalms 130-132, Romans 15:1-13

The Psalmist asks for God’s strength and to remember His promises to his people. As songs of ascent, they remind worshipers that God’s forgiveness and mercy are what give them the right to enter His presence. Psalm 132 looks forward to the king from David’s line who will reign over Israel and one day, the world.

In Romans, Paul describes how we should love, accept, and encourage both the strong and the weak. He points to the example of Christ and shows that the inclusion of the Gentiles has been part of God’s plan from the beginning. He concludes this passage with a benediction asking the Holy Spirit to fill the reader with hope.
