Letters to the Church
Hosea delivers warnings and promises for the people of Israel that God is committed to them despite their unfaithfulness to Him. Although they have rebelled, the Lord forgives them like a father forgives a wayward son. Hosea closes with an appeal to return to the Lord for healing and covenant renewal.
In Revelation, John records Jesus’ commendation and critique of His seven churches in Asia. Jesus commands repentance from sin and persevering faithfulness despite persecution. The letters to the seven churches make up the first series of seven in Revelation (more to come) and include comfort and commands to God’s people.
