The Strength of the Lord

Overview: Psalms 4-6, Acts 13:13-52

These Psalms contrast the experience of the righteous to the wicked. Because of their trust in the Lord, the righteous know that God hears their prayers. Knowing this brings relief, peace, and joy even in the midst of suffering.

In his sermon in a synagogue, Paul teaches that Jesus is the fulfillment of Old Testament promises. After the Jewish opposition forces him out, he and Barnabas turn to the Gentiles with their Gospel.

The Bible uses contrasts to illustrate how God’s way differs from the world. Do you face life’s challenges with your own strength or with God’s?
