Jesus is the Christ

Overview: 1 Chronicles 22-24, John 9:1-23

With a united kingdom of Israel, David prepares his son Solomon to build a temple for the Lord. David organizes the priests and Levites for the new temple’s worship and administration.

Jesus performs another miraculous sign, proving his identity as the Messiah. When he heals a man born blind, He faces opposition from the Jewish religious leaders who feel threatened by His power.

Observation and Activation

David’s identity as a warrior king disqualified him from building a temple for the Lord. Solomon is promised to be a man of rest, as his name (“man of peace” in Hebrew) is a preview of the “peace and quiet” Israel will enjoy during his reign.

The parents of the man born blind were afraid of the Jewish leaders. If they confessed Jesus to be the Christ, they would lose their social standing in the synagogue. Does the fear of what people think prevent you from boldly declaring Jesus as the Lord of your life?
