A Kingdom Perspective

Overview: 2 Chronicles 13-16, John 12:1-19

Following Rehoboam’s reign, Judah is led by Abijah followed by Asa. Although Abijah falls short of the ideal king, Judah enjoys God’s blessing because they relied on the Lord. During Asa’s reign, Judah begins her decline as trust in God gives way to dependence on human alliances.

In John, Mary’s anointing previews Jesus’ coming death, but His triumphal entry hints at His future victory. The disciples did not understand these things at first but later remembered them with a new perspective.

Have you ever gone through things in life that didn’t make sense at first?
