Right Belief and Right Behavior
Overview: Jeremiah 43-44, Titus 2
The Lord judges Judah for their futile rebellion against Him and His word. The people reject Jeremiah’s word from the Lord, so the Lord rejects them. Despite God’s warnings of judgment for trusting Egypt and their idols, the people worship their gods and put their trust in Egpyt.
Paul advises Titus about how he should teach the church to live, reminding him that right belief leads to right behavior. He gives instructions for different groups within family structures that bring honor to God. He roots these practical instructions in the gospel, emphasizing that life change is based on Jesus’ resurrection.
