The New Covenant

Overview: Ezekiel 7-8, Hebrews 8

Ezekiel warns that the judgment of God’s people is almost at hand. The Lord took Ezekiel to Jerusalem in a vision and showed him the idolatrous worship in the temple. The people had adopted terrible, sinful practices in violation of God’s commands (Ezekiel 8:1-18).

Hebrews highlights how the new covenant through Jesus is superior to the old covenant through Moses. The covenant Jesus brought is superior to the old one because it is written on His people’s hearts (Hebrews 8:8-12, Jeremiah 31:31-34).

How does daily Bible reading strengthen the new covenant’s hold on our hearts?
