A New Heart

Overview: Ezekiel 11-12, Hebrews 10:1-18

The Lord delivers His judgment of Jerusalem to Ezekiel, but He assures there will be a remnant to return to Israel. He promises a new heart and a new spirit to follow God alone. Until then, Ezekiel anticipates the exile that comes with the final fall of Jerusalem.

Jesus’ death is the ultimate sacrifice for the sins of all those who believe in Him. In the Old Testament, it required a complex and continuous system of sacrifices to atone for sins. But Jesus’ sacrificed Himself once for all to pay for our sins. God says, “I will put my laws on their hearts, and write them on their minds" (Hebrews 10:16, Jeremiah 31:33-34, Ezekiel 11:19).
