A Vision of Restoration
Overview: Ezekiel 41-42, 1 Peter 5
Ezekiel receives a vision of the restoration of the presence of God within His people. His vision of the new temple reveals the glory of God triumphing over the sinfulness of His people. The measurements and descriptions represent the holiness of the temple where the presence of God dwells.
Peter concludes his letter by urging the church to stand firm and continue in their faith. He instructs the elders to care for their flock in service to God, just as Jesus instructed Peter in John 21:16. He teaches all Christians to embody humility and submission. He sends greetings from the church in Rome, referring to her as "she who is at Babylon," completing the metaphor of the church as exiles.
