Follow Christ, Not Man

Overview: Isaiah 65-66, Colossians 2

The book of Isaiah concludes with the prophet’s preparation of God’s people for the renewal of all things. Isaiah speaks to God’s judgment of those who reject Him, and His provision for those who follow Him. They describe the new heaven and the new earth where the Lord will live with His people for eternity.

Paul warns the church about the false teaching that they must follow a list of rules that focus on self-discipline and denying themselves. Instead, they should focus on Jesus, “in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" (Colossians 2:3). By God’s Spirit, believers can live the holy life God wants them to live.

In what area of your life do you try to resist sin by following rules instead of following Christ?
