Forgiveness and Perseverance

Overview: Jeremiah 33-34, 2 Timothy 1

The Lord promises restoration for Israel and Judah. Even though they would be overrun by the Babylonian enemy, God would forgive them and give them a future. But first, Judah must face the judgment and consequences for their actions. Despite the Lord’s faithfulness to them, the people have been unfaithful to Him and to one another.

Paul writes his second letter to Timothy as he approaches his own death. Paul knows he is about to die and urges Timothy to persevere for the sake of the gospel in spite of suffering. He urges Timothy to guard and teach the true gospel, despite opposition to ministry from false teachers.
