Walk in Love and Wisdom
Overview: Isaiah 51-52, Ephesians 5
The Lord reminds Israel of His faithfulness to rescue them in the past and promises to redeem them from exile in the future. God’s power for His people encourages them to have faith. The punishment they are suffering now will soon be directed at their tormentors, and God will send a Servant to redeem them.
Paul urges believers to imitate God, to love like Jesus, and to avoid sexual immorality and greed. He explains that they can be wise and make good use of the time they are given because they have the Holy Spirit within them.
He reminds them of the parallels of the relationship between husbands and wives, and the church and Jesus. Both are characterized by submission and sacrificial love.
How can you imitate God and make wise use of your time?
