Blessing Through Testing

Overview: Isaiah 29-30, 2 Corinthians 13

Isaiah prophesies about God’s justice and blessing for the world, revealing the word of the Lord that speaks into history. He speaks six laments over Jerusalem and Israel, warning them against trusting in themselves. Even when God’s people are faithless, He remains faithful.

Paul concludes his letter to the Corinthians with a call to the rebellious to test their faith against the truth of the gospel. In his closing greetings, he blesses the church while reminding them of the main themes of his letter. Our God is a God of love and peace, and we are called to live lives that reflect that.

God’s justice is pure. He brings good things from bad, even if we cannot see that He is working. Take inventory of your current season. Where has God shown you blessing after seasons of testing? Write about it in your Scripture Journal below.
