This internship is designed for someone hungry to grow themselves and the kingdom by serving and leading our community’s students and volunteers. This person’s primary responsibilities will be leading and shepherding the Fuse support team and engaging in outreach initiatives for our student ministry in the Charleston/Summerville area. This role requires someone passionate about reaching more middle and high school students and their families with the Gospel as they will be building, mobilizing, and activating teams of volunteers to execute student ministry at NewSpring Charleston. Role Expectations:
● Uphold the mission, pillars, and standards for NewSpring Internships, Fuse, and Worship Arts.
● Participate in the growth of Fuse at NewSpring Charleston.
● Outreach (Beginning August 2025)
○ Plan to spend 3 to 5 hours per week on students’ turf within our city (i.e., attend school lunches, ball games, school events, and participate in outreach partnerships).
○ Actively seek out partnerships with local middle and high school administrators, organizations, coaches, and athletic teams to discover how we can support them and connect with students.
○ Represent the outreach area of Fuse in our weekly leadership team meetings.
● Hold leadership responsibilities at weekly Fuse gatherings on Wednesday nights.
● Hold leadership responsibilities in the planning and execution of Gauntlet.
● Join the Fuse Director and other Fuse volunteers in leading next step conversations to practice discernment in real-time conversations and help determine if serving in Fuse is a potential volunteer’s best fit.
● Follow-up with parents and students after Wednesday night gatherings.
● Serve at Gauntlet from June 23 to June 27, 2025.
● Lead worship, participate in the band, and/or direct music, as requested for Fuse at any NewSpring campus or any NewSpring event.
● Adhere to and encompass the qualities and characteristics required of NewSpring staff members, as defined by the Policies and Procedures Handbook.
