Honoring Martin Luther King Jr.
Dr. King asked to be remembered as one who “tried to give his life serving others” (King, “The Drum Major,” 185). King’s faith was the driving force behind his message and his methods. He called Christians to love their neighbors and their enemies and to work toward a more just society. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, or MLK Day, is a day to remember King’s message. It’s a time to serve others, pray, and reflect. If you’re looking for ways to learn more about Martin Luther King Jr. on your own or with a group, here are a few places to start.
