Luke Benoit’s Story

Luke Benoit felt as if he was born gay. But, living out that identity in his teenage years didn’t satisfy his search for fulfillment. It just left him even more tired, empty and alone. When he moved cross-country to Anderson, South Carolina, for a fresh start, a friend from school invited him to Fuse, NewSpring’s student ministry. He had been to church when he was younger, but this was the first church he’d ever encountered with an interpreter for the deaf.

One night a friend decided to type out what the preacher was saying, and Luke realized he needed a relationship with Jesus. On January 14, 2015 he asked Jesus into his life! Since then, God is changing him, and he is now on a new path full of lasting joy. Even though it’s still a struggle for him when it comes to being gay, it is clear to him where his satisfaction comes from. Luke knows Jesus has great plans for his life and wants to follow Him.
