Session 32
Jesus and Lazarus
From The Life of Jesus: 50 Days in the Book of John
Read John 11:38-57
Now, spend some time reflecting on what you read and what stood out to you.
We see that Caiaphas the High Priest plots to kill Jesus while unknowingly helping to fulfill a prophecy. This is an example of God working all things together for good. Where in your life do you see God working all things together for good? Does this help you to have a better perspective? Now, do you see that situation differently?
We see Jesus perform one of His greatest miracles simply by saying three words: “Lazarus, come out!” If Jesus is capable of bringing a man back from the dead with just three words, what can He accomplish in your life?! Partner with Him in prayer — believing He’s the God of the impossible. So, what are you praying for God to do in your life?
Jesus loved Lazarus, but Martha and Mary took the initiative to ask Jesus to heal him. Are there any people in your life that you can ask God to heal or provide for? How can you partner with Him in seeing that happen?
Finally, spend some time responding to Jesus in prayer. What do you want to thank Him for? What do you want to ask Him for? What do you need to confess to Him?
