You grow on the vine

From The Life of Jesus: 50 Days in the Book of John

Read John 15:1-17

Now, spend some time reflecting on what you read and what stood out to you.

• Jesus tells us that He is the vine and we are the branches if we are connected to Him. It’s another unique parable that He uses to communicate to us that we need Him for life. If you were to evaluate your own life, what vine would you say you’re connected to?
  

• Jesus tells us in verse five, “Apart from me you can do nothing.” Is there anything you’re trying to accomplish apart from God? How can you begin to partner with Him?
  

• “Whoever abides in me and I in him bears much fruit.” If you looked at the fruit in your life, would you say it reveals that you’re abiding in Jesus or in something/someone else?
  

Finally, spend some time responding to Jesus in prayer. What do you want to thank Him for? What do you want to ask Him for? What do you need to confess to Him?
