Read John 11:1-16

Now, spend some time reflecting on what you read and what stood out to you.

• In verse four, Jesus acknowledges Lazarus’ illness but says it will glorify God. Have there been times when you were scared and then saw God come through?
  

• What do you think Jesus is saying in verses nine and ten?
  

• Spoiler alert: Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead later in this chapter. Place yourself in the story and imagine the hopelessness of hearing of Lazarus’ death. How would that make you feel toward Jesus? Do you feel like there are areas of your life where you thought God would come through … and He hasn’t the way you would hope?
  

Finally, spend some time responding to Jesus in prayer. What do you want to thank Him for? What do you want to ask Him for? What do you need to confess to Him?
