Session 27
Jesus heals a blind man
From The Life of Jesus: 50 Days in the Book of John
Read John 9
Now, spend some time reflecting on what you read and what stood out to you.
In verse two, the disciples believed the blind man’s parents had sinned for Him to be born blind. Look at what Jesus says in response. What do you think He means by saying “the works of God would be displayed in him?” In your own life, what are some hard things that you believe God can display His glory in?
What do you think verse 31 is saying? What does it mean for you to be a worshipper of God? Is that just music or a lifestyle?
This is a very hard chapter. We see a man that was healed of being blind, and yet the Pharisees couldn’t see the truth of who Jesus was. So, they cast out the man who was healed. Not only was he given his physical eyesight but he also was given spiritual eyesight. In your life, what has God given you eyes to see through the healing He’s given you? Maybe you were addicted to looking at things you know you shouldn’t, and He has now given you eyes to see the beauty of purity. How can you thank Him for giving you new eyes?
Finally, spend some time responding to Jesus in prayer. What do you want to thank Him for? What do you want to ask Him for? What do you need to confess to Him?
